How to Apply

We thank you for your interest in joining the SpiritWorks Farm Community.  We offer employment, apprenticeships, and volunteer opportunities.​

Apprenticeships:

We are currently taking applications for our apprenticeship programs. Preference will be given to those seeking college credit and herbalism students with goal-oriented learning.  We are happy to consider your being here and look forward to your responses to the questions below with a clarification of your desired timeline and goals.

The minimum stay for apprentices is 60 days, and our fees are $1000/month for the first two months and $750/month thereafter. 

​​

Fees for apprentices include full participation and immersion into all we offer here with food and a tent site and a private room (extra $200/month) or shared room (no additional charge) if available. Our apprenticeship  programs are an intensive immersion, and dedicated participation in the following areas is expected:

  • farming (soil, food, herbs, sales),

  • processing preparation and uses of herbs,

  • preparing farm to table meals featuring culinary herbalism

  • creating a health building lifestyle,

  • creating content for marketing

  • completion of a legacy project

  • growing oneself while creating  community with others, and

  • offering hospitality and educational programs for retreat center guests and community members.

Note:

  • We are not currently hiring full-time staff but welcome your interest anyway. 

  • Consider volunteering or doing an apprenticeship first, as we only hire from our volunteer and previous participant pool.

Volunteer Opportunities :

  • is participating in a high-energy team?

SpiritWorks Herb Farm is taking applications for our volunteer team.

  • Local Volunteers: 4 hours per day minimum when you have the time

  • WWOOFers: 30 hours/week 

  • We offer the ultimate safe social distancing learning work environment, a high energy upbeat team ethos, herbs and what food we can produce.

  • Tent sites provided if you work 30 hours per week. 

  • Volunteers are welcome just for the day on Wednesdays and with pre-scheduling on other days and will join in the activities of the day. 

  • A meal will be provided to those here for five hours or more.

    • The goal itself

6. Practical Considerations

​

  • Are there specific accommodations or needs we should be aware of? Dietary Restrictions? Allergies?

  • Please give us a sense of the time frame you wish to be here when you apply. We try to target specific dates for arrival for orientation to help us create a cohesive and high-functioning community. 

  • Do you have prior experience with farming? herbalism? or related fields?

    • ( Note: Previous experience is not required.)

Step 3: Submit Additional Materials

  • To complete your application, please include the following:

    • Resume or Work History: Highlight relevant experience, skills, areas of study, or roles

    • References: Provide contact information for 1-2 individuals who can vouch for your character or skills

    • Portfolio (Optional): If applicable, share somemples of your work (e.g. writing, project photos)
