This is an exciting month at SpiritWorks, and one of the things we're most excited about is the fact that we'll be hosting 3 guest teachers!
We have 3 amazing events lined up for you guys, complete with 3 amazing guest lecturers. They each have such unique areas of expertise to contribute and really valuable but diverse knowledge to share. Consider joining us at SpiritWorks to take advantage of these powerful learning opportunities!
A quick overview:
Understanding the Plants We Call "Weeds": Saturday, September 6th, 10 AM - 12 PM ($44)
Herbal Allies for Postpartum & Breastfeeding: Wednesday, September 17th, 6-7:30 PM ($25)
Herbal Allies for Gut Health: Thursday, September 25th, 6-7:30 ($20)
Some more details:
Understanding the Plants We Call "Weeds": A fourth generation farmer, Patti Armbrister is also a leader in regenerative soil-building techniques and a soil health champion. She’ll cover how “weeds” can be important indicators of nutrient deficiency and facilitators of plant succession. She’ll also help landowners navigate common weeds they face and perform a demonstration on how to transform thistle into a powerful soil amendment. Then SpiritWorks’ Anna Prestegaard will contribute her perspective on the medicinal value of local weeds, with insight into how they can promote health & well-being.
Herbal Allies for Postpartum & Breastfeeding: Graduate of Cedar Mountain Herb School and mom herself, Lindsey Eckhoff, has designed a hands-on class for new moms. She'll share her knowledge about how herbs can be especially supportive for this vulnerable, special moment in time following childbirth. She'll guide participants through making their own herbal sitz bath and tea blend, explaining how herbs can promote uterus recovery, target overwhelm, and even boost milk supply. Take home some supportive herbal goodies along with the knowledge of how to effectively use them!
Herbal Allies for Gut Health: Holistic health guide Melissa Hill wants to support you on your journey with your digestive health. Her workshop will culminate in creating your own unique tea blend tailored to your health needs and your tastes! But first, she'll walk you through which herbs can improve your digestive health while helping you to better understand the physiology and function of your gut. During this class, she'll point you towards tools you can rely on—often herbs & spices that are already in your kitchen cupboards—to to address issues like bloating, acid reflux, sensitive stomach, and more.
Finally, we're ringing in the new month with a special sale for you all! Use the discount code SEPTEMBERSALE to get 50% off our backstock of herbs. Clear out our apothecary while you stock up for fall—a win for both of us!
